A living star chart · your sky, right now
Planisphere
The real dome overhead — planets, Moon and the brightest stars, placed by true altitude and azimuth for your spot on Earth and this moment on the clock. Wheel time forward, or step to another city and watch the heavens re-hang themselves.
Tap any point of light to name it. The dotted arc is the ecliptic — the road the Sun, Moon and planets keep to.
Positions come from the low-precision Keplerian method (Schlyter): good to a fraction of a degree for the planets and about a degree for the Moon. The Sun’s real altitude sets whether it is day or night here, so the stars only appear when you could actually see them.
